Terms of Service
Last updated: July 2026
By creating an account and using Siedla, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully before signing in for the first time.
1. Service Description
Siedla is a platform for residential and homeowner communities to communicate, discuss, vote on proposals, and manage shared affairs such as costs, meetings, documents, and maintenance. The platform facilitates decision-making among homeowners, tenants, and property managers and is available as a web application and a mobile app. The service is provided free of charge during its public beta; any paid plans would be announced in advance and would require your express agreement.
2. Community Resolutions and Legal Effect
Siedla is a coordination and documentation tool. Votes, conversations, and documents on the platform help communities prepare and record their decisions. Siedla does not guarantee that a vote conducted on the platform satisfies the statutory formal requirements for a legally binding resolution of a homeowners' association or similar body (for example under the Austrian WEG 2002 or the German WEG). Compliance with such requirements — including convocation, notice periods, quorums, majorities, and form — remains the responsibility of the community and its property management.
3. Accounts
You must provide a valid email address to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in links and one-time login codes confidential. One account per person. You must be at least 16 years old to use this service.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the platform respectfully and lawfully. You may not: post illegal, abusive, or harassing content; impersonate others; attempt to access communities you do not belong to; interfere with the platform's operation; or use automated tools to scrape data.
5. Your Content
You retain ownership of content you create (conversations, comments, proposals, documents). You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and display your content solely for operating and providing the service to you and your community. Community admins may moderate content within their communities. The license ends when the content or your account is deleted, except for content that remains part of a community's decision record in anonymized form.
6. Privacy
Your use of this service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the platform, you acknowledge that your data will be processed as described therein.
7. Service Availability
We aim to provide a reliable service but do not guarantee 100% uptime. We may perform maintenance that temporarily affects availability. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice.
8. Termination
You may delete your account at any time via your account settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms; where reasonable, we will issue a warning first. Community admins may remove members from their communities. Your statutory rights remain unaffected.
9. Limitation of Liability
We are liable without limitation for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence and for injury to life, body, or health. In cases of slight negligence, we are liable only for the breach of essential contractual obligations and only up to the damage typically foreseeable for this type of contract. We are not liable for the substance of decisions communities make using the platform, nor for content posted by users. Mandatory statutory liability, including under consumer protection law, remains unaffected.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by email or via an in-app notice at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance; if you do not agree to the updated terms, you may delete your account before they take effect.
11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by Austrian law, excluding its conflict-of-law rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. The competent courts in Vienna, Austria have exclusive jurisdiction for any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms, except where mandatory consumer protection law grants a consumer the right to bring proceedings before the courts of their place of residence.
